Early History of Northern Clarion County Schools

In the early 1900's Northern Clarion County youth were educated in small schools spread across the landscape.

One of the earliest one-room school houses was the Lamb School in Lucinda. Located near Farmington Township was the Wolbert School and Kerr School.

The Lauer School was in western Knox Township. There was a school on Madden Drive, called the Madden School.

Huefner, Strobleton, and Fryburg also had schools.

A few of the old school houses are pictured below.
